| Kingston City Service was a temporary service set up by Colonial Coach Lines in the wake of the devestating fire of March 1, 1930 that destroyed the carbarn of the Kingston, Portsmouth & Cataraqui Electric Railway. Kingston City Service started on March 5 with several 21-seat intercity buses that had been leased from Provincial Transport of Montreal, and was under the management of Mr. Ralph G. Perry. The buses were leased until May 1, at which point Kingston City Coach Company Limited had been selected as the operator of choice for the new bus system. However, since Kingston City Coach did not have any buses ready by May 1, Kingston City Service continued to operate the system, either with the same buses, or others brought in if the seven buses had been returned to Montreal. As the last of the seven Kingston City Coach buses arrived in the city in early September 1930, it is possible that is when the last Kingston City Service bus was returned.
